Yoga Studio Etiquette
1. Arrive on Time: Arrive at least 10-15 minutes early to settle in and prepare for class. Late arrivals can be disruptive.
2. Silence Your Phone: Please turn off or silence your mobile devices before entering the studio to maintain a peaceful environment.
3. Respect Personal Space: Be mindful of your neighbors’ space on the mat. Position yourself appropriately and avoid stepping over others.
4. Practice Cleanliness: Wear clean, comfortable clothing. Bring a mat towel if you tend to sweat, and consider using a mat spray to clean the studio mats after class.
5. Be Mindful of Fragrance: Avoid wearing strong perfumes or scents, as many people are sensitive to fragrances.
6. Follow Instructor Guidance: Listen to your instructor’s cues and modifications. They are there to support your practice.
7. Stay on Your Mat: Focus on your practice and avoid engaging in conversations during class. Save socializing for after class.
8. Respect Class Structure: If you’re new, inform the instructor before class starts. This helps them guide you through the practice safely.
9. Clean Up After Yourself: Wipe down mats and props after use, and return any equipment to its proper place.
10. Practice Mindfulness: Be respectful of others’ practice by maintaining a quiet demeanor and refraining from distracting behaviors.
11. Stay for the Entire Class: If possible, remain for the full duration of the class, including savasana (final relaxation). If you must leave early, inform the instructor beforehand.
12. Ask Questions: If you have questions or need assistance, feel free to ask the instructor before or after class.
